Golf Digest’s "Best New Golf Courses in America" (1998)

Welcome to Widow’s Walk!!

Located in Scituate, Massachusetts, on the coast midway between Boston and Plymouth, Widow’s Walk is a municipally owned 18-hole layout adjacent to the historic North River and within sight of the Atlantic Ocean.

Designed by the nationally known Ohio-based architect, Mike Hurdzan, Widow’s Walk was built on 100 acres of an abandoned sand and gravel quarry that was long devoid of vegetation and wildlife.

America’s first "environmental demonstration course," Widow’s Walk opened to much fanfare and national acclaim in 1997.

Arguably one of the best public courses in Massachusetts, Widow’s Walk was named one of the "Best New Golf Courses in America" in 1998 by Golf Digest, which subsequently awarded the course a four star rating in 2004, on the magazine’s list of top "Courses to Play."

Widow’s Walk is also the top choice among the Community Newspaper Company’s Mariner Newspapers readers in the 12-town South Shore area, receiving its "Readers’ Choice Award" as the "#1 Golf Course" on the South Shore for nine straight years, beginning in 1999 and each subsequent year thru to the current 2007 season.

The readers of the area’s largest and most prestigious suburban daily newspaper, The (Quincy) Patriot Ledger, has also named Widow’s Walk one of the area’s top golf courses to play in its "Readers’ Choice Awards".

Come and enjoy. We look forward to seeing you soon.
